The solution for the given equations  2x-5y=-5 and x+y=8 are (x, y) respectively (5, 3).

Step-by-step explanation:

The given is,

               2x-5y=-5.................................................(1)

               x+y=8........................................................(2)

Step:1

         By using the elimination method for the above equations are,

        Multiply the equation (2) by 2     ( Eqn(2) × 2)

                 2x+2y=16.............................................(3)

Step:2

       Subtract the Equation (1) and (3),

               2x-5y=-5

               2x+2y=16

      ( - )

      ( 2x - 2x ) + ( -5y - 2y ) = ( -5 - 16 )

                                   -7y = -21

                                       y = 3

Step:3

     Substitute the value of y in Eqn (2),

                                       x+y=8 ............................(2)

                                       x+3=8

                                             x=8-3

                                             x=5

Step:4

    Check for solution,

              Substitute the x and y values in Eqn (1),

                                  2x-5y=-5  ........................(1)

                      (2 × 5) - (5 × 3) = -5

                                   10 - 15 = -5

                                          -5 = -5

Result:

       The solution for the equations 2x-5y=-5 and x+y=8 are (x, y) respectively (5, 3).

pls help me with this if you know it also to explain it thanks Solve the equation -21 + 70n = 77 for n.
gogolik [260]

Answer:

n = 1 2/5

Step-by-step explanation:

-21 + 70n = 77

Add 21 to each side

-21+21 + 70n = 77 +21

70n = 98

Divide each side by 70

70n/70 = 98/70

n =98/70

n = 70/70 +28/70

n = 1 + 2/5

n = 1 2/5

Use the net to find the surface area of the square pyramid.
Nastasia [14]

Answer:

c. 125

Step-by-step explanation:

10 * 5 divided by 2 because it's a triangle and will equal 25 then you would multiply 25 x 4 which is 100 because there's four triangles and 5 * 5 for the box and the answer is 25 then you going to add 100 to 25

wlad13 [49]

Answer:

The tree that Laura had to cut had 306 apples.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given that Laura has 78 apple trees in her cider farm, with a mean of 460 apples per tree, but then she has had to get a tree cut down, and after that, the mean of apples per tree became 462, to determine how many apples were there on the tree that Laura had to cut down, the following calculation must be performed:

(78 x 460) - (77 x 462) = X

35.880 - 35.574 = X

306 = X

Thus, the tree that Laura had to cut had 306 apples.
