Why is it important to write down your ideas and discoveries when you conduct initial research on a topic?

Its important to write down your ideas for a research topic b/c your brain cant keep that much infomation so your going t need to write it down somewhere and you will be able to write everything you wrote down on your paper and then summarize it.
