The correct answer to this open question is the following.

What would represent the beautiful art of the Renaissance in northern European countries is a small, detailed and realistic portrait.

The influence of the Italian Renaissance was spreading throughout other European countries until it went beyond the geographical region of the Alpes Mountains and touched places such as France, Germany, and Poland, until finally reaching some Scandinavian countries and England. Among the most important artists of these places were Jean Fouquet, Albrecht Durer, Hans Holbein, and Robert Campin.

Based on what you know about the Hawley-Smoot Tariff Act, how can tariffs be both useful and dangerous tools? Give your answer i
Delicious77 [7]
Tariffs can be useful to help boost the demand of domestically produced goods. In the short-term, this approach can be good for the nation implementing the tariff because it can improve its production. However, this tactic can negatively impact other countries as the demand for their exports decline, causing a decline in their GDP. As seen with the Hawley-Smoot Tariff Act, countries may retaliate with tariffs of their own, causing global economic issues.

Why did president thomas jefferson want the united states to buy new orleans and western florida from the french?
Aleksandr [31]
In 1802, U.S. President Thomas Jefferson wanted to purchase New Orleans. The city of New Orleans controlled the Mississippi River, which was already important for shipping goods to and from the parts of the USA west of the Appalachian Mountains. Through Pinckney's Treaty with Spain, American merchants had "right of deposit" in New Orleans, meaning they could use the port for their goods. Napoléon Bonaparte returned Louisiana to French control from Spain (Louisiana had been a colony of Spain since 1762). Americans were fearful that they would lose their rights of use to New Orleans. The Jefferson administration decided that the best way to assure long term access to the Mississippi would be to purchase the city of New Orleans and the nearby portions of Louisiana east of the Mississippi. Jefferson sent James Monroe and Robert R. Livingston to Paris to negotiate such a purchase.
