Answer:

The pro-business atmosphere of the 1920s would, however, drain these measures of power. It might be said that the sentiments of the Progressive Era, the idea of helping the weak and taking an active approach to improving society, led to the entry of the United States into World War I (1914–18) in 1917

Explanation:

The 1920s was a decade of the Gregorian calendar that began on January 1, 1920, and ended on December 31, 1929. In North America, it is frequently referred to as the "Roaring Twenties" or the "Jazz Age"

how did the Americans disagree over the role of the federal and state governments before and after the during the civil war?
romanna [79]
From what I can remember, states' rights was a large factor contributing to the Civil War. With Lincoln becoming president and representing the North, the Southern states seceded, leading to a war. The state governments of the South argued that since the Constitution and federal government was created by the states, the federal government had no right to stop states from seceding. President Lincoln and other northerners disagreed and wanted to preserve the Union by stopping states from seceding.
After the war, I believe the South still disagreed on a strong federal government. They wanted to rule the area by themselves.
