Answer:

I will allow you to be creative in writing your own paragraph.

Explanation:

A simple sentence = one independent clause

Ex.:  I went to school.

A compound sentence = two simple sentences connected together (typically with a comma and a coordinating conjunction)

Ex: I went to school, and I learned how to write.

A complex sentence = an independent clause and dependent clause connected together (the order is unimportant, but the punctuation *IS* important.

Ex.: I cleaned my room before I went to school.  (indep + dep.)

Ex. Before I went to school, I cleaned my room.  (dep. + indep.)

A compound-complex sentence is a combination of the two previous types.

Ex.: I cleaned my room, and I took a shower before I went to school.

Ex.: Before I went to school, I cleaned my room, and I took a shower.

I would be able to read over your paragraph if you want to send it to me. I'll give you feedback.

What evidence leads you to believe that the tone of the passage is academic?
anzhelika [568]
Typically when the narrator uses information that you could probably find somewhere trustworthy, like a textbook and goes on to give specific information that you would need to know for a unit or group of tests. For example, if the passage says "Christopher Columbus didn't actually mean to find the Americas, I guess you could say it was a happy mistake." That would be academic.
