Answer:

The equation of the line is 7 x +5 y = 15.

Step-by-step explanation:

Here the given points are ( 5, -4) & ( -10, 17) -

Equation of a line whose points are given such that

( x_{1},y_{1} ) & ( x_{2}, y_{2}  )-

 y - y_{1}   = \frac{y_{2} - y_{1}  }{x_{2} - x_{1}}  ( x - x_{1}  )

i.e.  <em>y - (-4)= \frac{17 - (-4)}{-10 - 5}  ( x- 5)</em>

<em>      y + 4 = \frac{17 + 4}{ -15} ( x - 5)</em>

<em>      y + 4 = \frac{21}{-15}  ( x - 5 )</em>

<em>      ( y + 4)  =  \frac{7}{- 5} ( x - 5)</em>

<em>      5 (y + 4 ) = - 7 (x - 5 )</em>

<em>      5 y + 20 = -7 x + 35</em>

<em>      7 x + 5 y = 15</em>

Hence the equation of the required line whose passes trough the points ( 5, -4) & ( -10, 17)  is 7 x + 5 y = 15.

If the perimeter of a rectangle measures 46 feet and the length of the rectangle is 8 feet, what is the width?
krek1111 [17]

Perimeter formula:

perimeter = 2(length) + 2(width)

Plug in values and solve for width:

46 = 2(8) + 2(w)

46 = 16 + 2w

30 = 2w

w = 15

The width of the rectangle is 15 feet.

Hope this helps!! :)

We want this expression because when we talk about dimensions, we want NON-NEGATIVE numbers. The other expression gives us a solution of <em>-</em><em>9</em><em> </em><em>=</em><em> </em><em>x</em><em>,</em><em> </em>and we do not want that; this one gives us <em>6</em><em> </em><em>=</em><em> </em><em>x,</em><em> </em>and THIS is what we are looking for.

ABC airlines has had delays on 18 of 126 recent flights . DEF airlines has had delays 13% of the time . Which airline would you
GarryVolchara [31]
ABC airlines because it’s only 18 out of 126 “recent” flights which can only be greater than 13 percent of all of the time so you would have a less percent chance of your flight being delayed.
