strojnjashka [21]

Answer:

5 hours

Step-by-step explanation:

The problem is giving you the equation

y =  0.4x; where y is the # of buckets filled and x is the hours.

If they you 2 filled buckets, then how many hours?

You need to solve for x

y = 0.4x; to get the x by itself, divide by 0.4

x = \frac{y}{0.4} ; now substitute y with 2 ( for 2 filled buckets)

x = \frac{2}{0.4} = 5; which means it took 5 hours to fill up 2 buckets.
