To answer the question, let x be the cost of each hamburger, y be the cost of each medium fries, and z be the cost of each medium drink. The equations that are described in the problem are,
       (Miller )        4x + 3y = 18.69
       (James)       x + 2y + z = 8.66
       (Steven)      2x + y + z = 10.27
Solving simultaneously for the values of the variables give x = 3.36, y = 1.75, and z = 1.8.
Thus, each hamburger costs $3.36. Each medium fries cost $1.75, and each drink costs $1.8.

Are the lines in the diagram perpendicular, parallel, skew, or none of these?

l and m: neither
l and m intersect, but are not perpendicular.

l and n: skew
l and n are not parallel, but they do not intersect because they are not on the same plane.

m and n: perpendicular.
m and n intersect at a right angle

Two improper fractions have a numerator of 17. The equivalent mixed numbers are 3?/? and 1?/?. What could the mixed numbers be?
Llana [10]
The times plus method.... is where a mixed number.... for example, to get the improper fraction of 3 1/4, you multiply 4 and three, and add that number with 1. (try writing it on a piece of paper, times between the whole number and denominator, and a plus between the whole number and the numerator.) anyway we are going to use the reverse for this.

SO the numerator is 17, and 17 is divisible by 5..... 3 times (u get where I'm going??) and there's 2 left over so...... the answer for that one should be 3 2/5
Since 3 x 5= 15+2 is 17 ;)))

Moving ON for the one....pick like 15 or 16 to be the denominator.... and subtract the 15 or 16 from 17, and the number you get is your numerator...

Answer:

13 miles

Step-by-step explanation:

The shortest distance would be a straight line between the two points. This would be a hypotenuse of a right triangle

We can use the Pythagorean theorem to determine the length

a^2+b^2=c^2

5^2 +12^2 = c^2

25+144= c^2

169 = c^2

Taking the square root of each side

sqrt(169) = sqrt(c^2)

13 = c
