I believe Correlation is not causation" means that just because two things correlate does not necessarily mean that one causes the other. As a seasonal example, just because people in the UK tend to spend more in the shops when it's cold and less when it's hot doesn't mean cold weather causes frenzied high-street spending.

This was the story that had the main character as Uncle Tom. he was one of the enslaved black men in the United States that did not have their rights. The story showed him as a noble person who was steadfast despite the issues that he faced.

The use of this story was used to show the white Northerners how evil slavery was and the reasons why the blacks had to be free fro it. Hence it was one of the ways that the Northerners were  persuaded in the fight against slavery.
