Answer:

The correct phrase would be: "I sailed across the Atlantic for France"

Explanation:

The body of water that separates Europe and the North America is the Atlantic ocean. The Pacific Ocean is on the other side - west. Furthermore, one sails across something therefore, it is quite impossible to  phrase the sentence in this manner.

What are you trying to say? If you are trying to say that you sailed to the Pacific Ocean from France, I would write it:

From France, I sailed to the Pacific Ocean.

If you are trying to say that you sailed the Pacific Ocean to France, it would be incorrect. You would not sail the Pacific Ocean to get to France. You would sail the Atlantic Ocean to get to France. If this is so, I would write it:

Through the Atlantic Ocean, I sailed to France.

Hope this helps! :)

What is the origin of the term blue laws?
Tamiku [17]
So this term is usually known as laws so absurd that it shouldn't even be a law. Examples are like "One may not eat oatmeal on their porch on Saturdays in ______". The term came from the idea that they shouldn't need to be stated and that they are just morally wrong. Or that one MUST do something because it is morally right to do that.
