Answer:

(3,0)

Step-by-step explanation:

4x+8y=`12--------------------------(1)

3x-8y=9-----------------------------(2)

By adition method the y terms will cancel. +8y+-8y=0 hence

4x+3x=12+9

7x=21----------------------------divide both sides by 7 to get x

7x/7=21/7

x=3.....................substitute value of x in equation (1)

4x+8y=12

4(3)+8y=12

12+8y=12

8y=12-12

8y=0

y=0

solutions

x=3, y=0

Health club a charges 100.00 membership fee plus 25.00 per plus 25.00 per month
Snowcat [4.5K]

Answer:

Month 5 the cost will be the same

Step-by-step explanation:

Make to equations from the given information

Let y be the cost, and let x be the number of months

Club A:  y = 25x + 100

Club B:  y = 20x + 200

It wants to know when the cost will be the same, so set the 2 equations equal to each other and solve..

25x + 100 = 20x + 200

5x = 100              (subtract 20x and 100 from both sides)

  x = 20                (divide both sides by 5)

So after 5 months the cost will be equal,

What is the point slope form of the line with slope -1/4 that passes through the point ( -2,9 )
morpeh [17]

\bf (\stackrel{x_1}{-2}~,~\stackrel{y_1}{9})~\hspace{10em} \stackrel{slope}{m}\implies -\cfrac{1}{4} \\\\\\ \begin{array}{|c|ll} \cline{1-1} \textit{point-slope form}\\ \cline{1-1} \\ y-y_1=m(x-x_1) \\\\ \cline{1-1} \end{array}\implies y-\stackrel{y_1}{9}=\stackrel{m}{-\cfrac{1}{4}}[x-\stackrel{x_1}{(-2)}]\implies y-9=-\cfrac{1}{4}(x+2)
