It's not easy to create an app for cellphones it is harder than to create those for computers. You would need to learn swift coding language to create an application.

A canister is released from a helicopter 500m above the ground. The canister is designed to withstand an impact speed of up to 1
Lisa [10]

Answer:

a) h = 1/2 gt² b) 99 m/s c) 14.1 m/s

Explanation:

a) As the only force acting on the canister once released is gravity, as it is constant, we can use one of the kinematic equations, as follows:

h = h₀ + v₀t + 1/2a t²

As we are told that the canister is simply released, it means that v₀ =0.

If we choose the direction of the acceleration (downward) as positive ,and we select the height at which it was released as our origin, so h₀ =0, the final expression for height is as follows:

h = 1/2 g t²

b) Combining this equation with the expression of t, from the definition of acceleration as the rate of change of velocity, we arrive to this expression:

vf² - v₀² = 2 g h

As v₀ = 0, we have v₀ = √2.g.h = √2.9.8.500 m²/s² = 99 m/s

c) In order to be able to break the canister, impact speed must be larger than 100 m/s.

So, we can use the same equation as above, putting vf=100 m/s, and solving for v₀, as follows:

v₀² = vf² - 2.g.h = 100² m²/s² - 2.9.8.500 m²/s² = 200 m²/s²

v₀ = √200 m²/s² = 14.1 m/s

For any value of v₀ just barely larger than this, the canister will be broken.

Write the following function without using the C++ string class or any functions in the standard library, including strlen(). Yo
dolphi86 [110]

Answer:

The function in C++ is as follows

int chkInd(string str1, string str2){

int lenstr1=0;

while(str1[lenstr1] != '\0'){  lenstr1++;  }

int index = 0; int retIndex=0;

for(int i=lenstr1-1;i>=0; i--){

   while (str2[index] != '\0'){

       if (str1[i] == str2[index]){

           retIndex=1;

           break;         }

       else{   retIndex=0;      }

  index++;    }

  if (retIndex == 0){   return i;   }else{return -1;}}

}

Explanation:

This defines the function

int chkInd(string str1, string str2){

First, the length of str1 is initialized to 0

int lenstr1=0;

The following loop then calculates the length of str1

while(str1[lenstr1] != '\0'){  lenstr1++;  }

This initializes the current index and the returned index to 0

int index = 0; int retIndex=0;

This iterates through str1

for(int i=lenstr1-1;i>=0; i--){

This loop is repeated while there are characters in str2

   while (str2[index] != '\0'){

If current element of str2 and str1 are the same

       if (str1[i] == str2[index]){

Set the returned index to 1

           retIndex=1;

Then exit the loop

           break;         }

If otherwise, set the returned index to 0

       else{   retIndex=0;      }

Increase index by 1

  index++;    }

This returns the calculated returned index; if no matching is found, it returns -1

  if (retIndex == 0){   return i;   }else{return -1;}}

}

EXERCISE 3
balandron [24]

Answer:

The BASIC program is as follows:

SUM = 0

FOR I = 1 TO 20

INPUT SCORES

SUM = SUM + SCORES

NEXT I

AVERAGE = SUM/20

PRINT AVERAGE

Explanation:

This initializes sum to 0

SUM = 0

This iterates through 20

FOR I = 1 TO 20

This reads each score

INPUT SCORES

This calculates the total scores

SUM = SUM + SCORES

NEXT I

This calculates the average

AVERAGE = SUM/20

This prints the calculated average

PRINT AVERAGE
