Georgia was founded as a buffer zone between the profitable Southern colonies and Spanish Florida. It was to work as a place to send those jailed for debt which helped to ease overcrowding in English jails and provided a new source of labor to settle Georgia.</span>

Equality for women has affected population growth because
today an increasing percentage of women are having fewer children. Women now
have the freedom of choice whether to have children or not and how many children
they would have. Also, with the increasing spread of family planning and the
use of contraceptives, women can control when to have children. This was
impossible to do in the past. Women were mostly at home whose main duty was to
take care of the family.
The term Gilded Age actually comes from the novel written by the great
Mark Twain. He used this title to indicate something marvelous, shining
and glittering on the surface but corrupted from the inside. The Gilded
Age was a period of great advancements and of a major economic boom but
that was all fueled by big corporations with shady practices who mistreated their workers and political corruption.
