If cyclin was always available in the cell at high concentrations, what affect would this have on the cell cycle?

Biology

Gala2k [10]3 years ago

Answer:

Cells will progress through mitosis even when they are not ready.

Explanation:

Being a protein, cyclin controls the progression of cell in the cell cycle, when its concentration will be more it activates cyclin dependent kinase enzyme which are necessary in the synthesis of cell, hence mitosis occurs even when it is completely not ready for it. In this condition cytokinesis will not occur and hence mitosis will occur in which the cell will divide with more than one nucleus. This type of cells are called multinucleated cell.

Order the events to show the evolution of the universe after the big bang. Inflation: Nucleosynthesis: Formation of first stars:
coldgirl [10]

Answer:

Here are the correct order of events that show evolution of the universe:

  1. Inflation
  2. Separation of last two fundamental forces
  3. Formation of subatomic particles
  4. Nucleosynthesis
  5. Formation of first stars

Explanation:

According to big bang theory, there were series of events carried on that lead to the formation of stars in the universe.

  • Inflation was the time when universe began to expand at extremely fast pace. The dimensions of that old universe during the fraction of a second expanded by a factor of at-least 10^26 to 10 cm. Elementary particles like quark began to expand into the thin layer of universe.
  • A strong nuclear force separated from its other two forces and the interactions between already created particles lead to the formation of more particles like Higgs bosons, W and Z etc.
  • When the universe began to cool down below 10 quadrillion degrees, neutrinos, electrons and quarks began to form. Antiquarks and quarks annihilated with each other in a process called baryogenesis, this lead to the formation of matter.
  • When the universe began to cool down below  a billion degrees, the atomic nuclei begin to form when neutrons and protons combined by fusion reactions. The initially created nuclei were of simplest elements like helium, hydrogen and lithium.
  • The period between the formation of first stars and atoms is called as dark age because there were no stars at that time. The formation of stars and galaxies was made 300 - 500 million years later. When the universe was kept expanding, gas pockets and gases became more and more dense. The small gas particles were collapsed under own gravity and became so hot that fusion reactions were triggered in them. Fusion between hydrogen atoms was the reaction which lead to the formation of most primitive stars.

Answer:

Gypsy moths do not kill trees directly they defoliate them. Severe defoliation can add to other stresses such as weather extremes or human activities. This cumulative stress can leave trees vulnerable to disease or other pest infestation that can cause death.

1. Fingerprints may be resolved into three large, general groups of patterns: the arch, the loop, and the ____.
LenKa [72]

1. According to Health, U. S., 1993: The Annual National Report on Health, the right answer is normally the whorl but it's not mentionned in the propositions.

2. The right answer is CODIS

Combined DNA Index System (CoDIS) is the US national database, created and maintained by the FBI. The CoDIS comprises three levels of information: local DNA index systems (LDIS) where the genetic profiles originate, state DNA index systems (SDIS) that allow laboratories in the same state to share information, and the index system of national DNA (NDIS) that allows states to compare information between them.

3. The right answer is latent prints.

Latent fingerprints are accidental fingerprints left by the skin on a surface, whether visible or invisible at the time of deposit.

Treatment techniques can visualize invisible latent print residues, whether from natural transpiration of the skin or from a contaminant in the blood.

4. The right answer is FACES.

The composite facial is a judicial investigation tool that represents the most likeable portrait possible of the face of a wanted person. It is established from testimonials.

5. The right answer is DNA profiling.

A genetic fingerprint, or genetic profile, is the result of a genetic analysis, making it possible to identify a person from a small amount of their biological tissues (hair bulb, blood, saliva, vaginal secretion, sperm).

6. The right answer is Criminal Investigative Analysis.

Criminal analysis is a method of analysis and investigation in the criminal field based on the use of new technologies (computer science). Criminal analysis distinguishes itself from behavioral analysis (criminal profiling).

Criminal analysis is a method that emerged in the US in the 1960s in the context of the fight against organized crime. This technique allows investigators to create links between elements (individuals, events, places, relationships ...), to structure and prioritize these elements (graphics, maps ...).

7. The right answer is Alec Jeffreys.

Sir Alec John Jeffreys (born January 9, 1950 in Luton, Bedfordshire) is a British geneticist who has developed genetic fingerprinting techniques.

8. The right answer is traditional.

DNA forensic analysis, commonly known as DNA analysis, is less than 10 years old. However, basic science dates back to at least 1953, when two young researchers from Cambridge University, James Watson and Francis Crick, discovered the molecular structure of DNA.

9. The right answer is the mtDNA database.

Unlike nuclear DNA, mitochondrial DNA does not contain repetitive sequences and inter-individual variations are sometimes visible on a single nucleotide. The polymorphism of the mitochondrial DNA is thus a polymorphism of structure (and not of repetition as that of the nuclear DNA).

Forensic analysis is performed on these polymorphisms present in a non-coding region called control region (also called D-loop). The two most variable portions of the control region (HV1 and HV2) are amplified by PCR and then detailed.

10. The right answer is revelancy test.

The revelation test allows to disclose something that was invisible or unnoticed before.
