So, first, what are the two sides?

let's call then x and y

we know that 2(x+y)=12.5 (that's the distance around)

so that means that x+y=6.25 (I just divided both by 2)

now, x=4y (from "4 times as long as it is wide")

so we can substitute:

x+4x=6.25

5x=6.25

x=1.25

so one side, is 1.25 and the other will be 1.25*4=5

and for the area we multiply the two:

1.25*5=6.25 square kilometers, and this is the answer!

The Area of the park is 6.25 square kilometers.

  • Let the wide = X
  • The length = 4X (the length is 4 times long as it is wide)
<h2>Further Explanation</h2>

Therefore, we should have:

To determine the perimeter of the rectangle = 2 x (length + wide)

P = 2 (L + W)

P = 2L + 2W

Recall the distance around the park is 12.5,

Hence,

= 12.5 = 2 (4x) + 2 (x)

= 12.5 = 8x + 2x

= 12.5 = 10x

X = \frac{12.5}{10}

X = 1.25

To determine the area, the formula for area is (A = W x L )

A = X x (4X)

A = 4X^{2}

A = 4 x (1.25)^{2}

A = 4 x (1.25 x 1.25)

A = 4 x 1.5625

A = 6.25 square kilometers

Thus, the area of the park is 6.25 square kilometers.

Her mother did not gave her enough money.
each pound of bananas costs 80 cents. 5 pounds of that is $0.8 x 5 = $4.00
each pound of apples costs $1.40. 5 pounds of that is $1.40 x 5 = $7.00
$4.00 + $7.00 = $11.00

1/2 of Ila’s workspace is covered in paper. 1/3 of the paper is covered in yellow sticky notes. What fraction of Ila’s workspace
Gennadij [26K]

Answer:

\frac{1}{6}

Step-by-step explanation:

We have been given that 1/2 of Ila’s work-space is covered in paper. 1/3 of the paper is covered in yellow sticky notes.

Ila’s work-space is covered in yellow sticky notes would be 1/3 of 1/2.

\text{Ila’s workspace is covered in yellow sticky notes}=\frac{1}{3}\times \frac{1}{2}

\text{Ila’s workspace is covered in yellow sticky notes}=\frac{1\times1}{3\times 2}

\text{Ila’s workspace is covered in yellow sticky notes}=\frac{1}{6}

Therefore, \frac{1}{6} of Ila’s workspace is covered in yellow sticky notes.

.

We know that if the sum of two angles is equal to 90

∘

then the angles are said to be complementary.

Step-by-step explanation:
