Why do people think the USA should use a metric system and not the English unit of measure ?

Most people think this(myself included) Because the Metric unit of measurement is much easier to follow than the English unit of measurement because there aren't many decimals and half number they are whole number that can be added and subtracted easily. Answers will very and this was just my belief so I hope it helps.
