How are the shapes of crowns of trees, and their location on earth, related to<br>each other?
STALIN [3.7K]

Answer:

Trees have to adapt to their environments in order to survive them, from the shape of their leaves to the size of their branches. They also have had to adapt the shape of their crowns to the kind of climate they live in so that they may have better chances at survival.

In warm areas with lots of sunlight for instance, you will see broad cones as the tree takes advantage to get as much sunlight as it can. In colder areas where snow is abundant, trees will be conical in shape so as not to gather too much snow when it falls.

What is the impact of the depletion of fishing stocks?
ziro4ka [17]
It is the same as creating more pests or setting up dominant species which upset the ecological food pyramid leading to decimation of trophic levels or predators and energy cycling. Fishes feed on microscopic algae and animals the primary base of the food chain in water, if they are not checked they will choke the rivers and oceans causing toxic waters. Fish feed to contain them, in the process they grow and increase in numbers but their population is checked by bigger fishes and so on till it reaches a top predator which is usually a large animal.

Ddt was widely used as a pesticide for 20 years. Its use was banned after studies showed severe side effects were evident in hum
emmasim [6.3K]

Answer:

One major side effect of DDT was the extreme damage to bird populations. DDT caused the shells of bird eggs to become extremely thin, which made them prone to breaking from minor disturbances and failing to thrive due to temperature regulation issues. It also slowly poisoned animals, especially birds that fed on insects that were poisoned by DDT. A notable bird species that was affected by DDT is the bald eagle. At one point in the 1960s, bald eagles nearly went extinct due to various effects of DDT. The threat of one of the most recognizable animals in America going extinct led to lawmakers trying to ban DDT.
