What is the length of side AC of the triangle?

Mathematics

The answer is 25 units

Explanation:

As shown in the figure, angle A is congruent to angle C.

so the triangle is isosceles.

ABC is isosceles, so AB = BC

Finding x:

5x + 5 = 7x - 1

5x - 7x = -1 -5

-2x = -6

2x = 6

x = 6/2 = 3

AC = 6x +7           we have x = 3

So:

AC = 6×3 +7 = 18 + 7 = 25 units

A wall is 12 feet long and 8 feet tall. There is a square window 4 feet long in the wall. What is the area of the wall surface?
murzikaleks [220]

Answer:

80 ft2

First let's find the total area of the wall: 12 x 8 = 96. Then, we need to subtract out the window. To find the area of the wall, we'll need to find the area of the window and subtract it from the total area of the wall: 4 x 8 = 32 | 96 - 32 = 64. However, I am assuming the height of the window is 8 feet. If the window is 1 foot tall, the answer is 92 feet. If the window is 4 feet tall, the answer is 80 feet.

(The first and last answers are incorrect) As there is no picture provided, as I am assuming there is a picture, please follow my instructions left for you above as to what the answer would be depending on the height of the window.

Choose the equation below that represents the line passing through the point (-5, 1) with a slope of three halves.
evablogger [386]
Correct answer is D.

Use equation of line which passes through the point A(x_1,y_1).
y-y_1=m(x-x_1)

A(-5,1) \Rightarrow x_1=-5,y_1=1
\\ m= \frac{3}{2}
\\
\\y-y_1=m(x-x_1) \\y-1= \frac{3}{2} (x-(-5))
\\y-1=\frac{3}{2} (x+5)
