Answer: 3920 N

Explanation:

The force acting on his legs is equal to the resultant total force on his body I.e his weight plus the mass he's carrying.

M = m1 + m2

M1 = mass of the weight lifter

M2 = mass of the weight he's carrying

M = sum of the total mass acting on body

M = (100 + 300) kg

M = 400kg

But force = mass * acceleration due to gravity,

Force (f) = 400 * 9.8

F = 3920N

A girl launches a toy rocket from the ground. The engine experiences an average thrust of 5.26 N. The mass of the engine plus fu
Triss [41]

Answer: The answer for A is - v = 786.93 m/s

The answer for B is - v = 122.40 m/s

Explanation:

a) To find the average exhaust speed (v) of the engine we can use the following equation:

F = vΔm

Where:

F: is the thrust by the engine = 5.26 N

Δm: is the mass of the fuel = 12.7 g

Δt: is the time of the burning of fuel = 1.90 s

v = F×ΔT/ΔT

b) To calculate the final velocity of the rocket we need to find the acceleration.

The acceleration (a) can be calculated as follows:

a = F/M

In the above equation, m is an average between the mass of the engine plus the rocket case mass and the mass of the engine plus the rocket case minus the fuel mass:

m = (m_{engine} + m_{rocket}) + (m_{engine} + m_{rocket} - m_{fuel})}{2} = {2*m_{engine} + 2*m_{rocket} - m_{fuel}}{2} = 2*25.0 g + 2*63.0 g - 12.7 g}{2} = 81.65 g

Now, the acceleration is:

a = 5.26 N/81.65-t 10^³kg} = 64.42 m*s^²

Finally, the final velocity of the rocket can be calculated using the following kinematic equation:

v= v_{0} + at = 0 + 64.42 m*s^{-2}*1.90 s = 122.40 m/s

From the top of a cliff, a person uses a slingshot to fire a pebble straight downward, which is the negative direction. The init
In-s [12.5K]

Answer:

a) the acceleration is -9.8 m/s^2 (gravity's acceleration), the magnitude is 9.8 m/s^2 and the direction is downwards.

The pebble is not decelerating since the magnitude of it's speed is increasing, even if it is on a negative direction.

b) after 0.5 s the pebble is 5.725 meters down. (or -5.725m from it's initial position.)

Explanation:

a) the acceleration is given only by gravity, it's the only force acting on the pebble, the slingshot only gives the pebble an initial speed.

b) To calculate the position we use the equation

y0 + v0·t + ½·g·t² = yf

replacing:

0 + (-9.0m/s) * 0.5s + 1/2 (-9.8)*0.5² = yf

-5.725 = yf

Identify the part of a carrot plant that contains chlorophyll and the part that contains
Alex Ar [27]

Answer:

Leaves and Roots

Explanation:

The leaves of carrots contain chlorophyll which gives them their green color.

Stored in the carrot roots is extra glucose that serves as a food source for the second year's growth of the carrot plant. The carrot plant needs this stored eneergy to reproduce in its second year.

Water flows into a swimming pool at the rate of 5.85 gal/min. If the pool dimensions are 21.2 ft wide, 46.1 ft long and 19.4 ft
Lana71 [14]

First, calculate volume:

volume = 21.2 ft * 46.1 ft * 19.4 ft

volume = 18,960 ft^3

Convert to gallon:

volume = 18,960 ft^3 * (12 in / 1 ft)^3 * (1 gallon / 231 in^3)

volume = 141,830.71 gallon

Therefore the time is:

time = 141,830.71 gallon / (5.85 gal/min)

time = 24,244.57 min
