Answer:

Perimeter of the figure is 2r(\pi + 6)

Step-by-step explanation:

Perimeter of a shape is total length of the boundaries of the shape. In the given question, we have two semicircles and a rectangle.

The circumference of a circle = 2\pir, thus the length of the arc of a semicircle = \pir.

The height of the rectangle is h, radius 'r' of the semicircle = \frac{h}{2}

⇒                             h = 2r

The perimeter of a rectangle = 2(l +b).

Given that: the length is twice its height, so that:

length = 2h

Perimeter of the rectangle = 2 (2h + h)

                                            = 6h

But,        h = 2r

Perimeter of the rectangle = 6 × 2r

                                            = 12r

Perimeter of the figure in terms of the semicircle's radius = \pir + 12r  + \pir

                                                                                               = 2\pir + 12r

                                                                                   = 2r(\pi + 6)

I’m confused on this one
tatyana61 [14]

6\sqrt2

Why?

We have the isosceles right triangle. The length of legs are 6. Use the Pythagorean theorem:

h^2=6^2+6^2\\\\h^2=36+36\\\\h^2=36\cdot2\to h=\sqrt{36\cdot2}\\\\h=\sqrt{36}\cdot\sqrt2\\\\h=6\sqrt2

In general, the formula for calculating the hypotenuse in an isosceles right triangle is h=a\sqrt2

a - a leg, h - a hypotenuse

Show all work to factor x^4 − 5x^2 + 4 completely.
Mademuasel [1]

Answer:

(x+1) (x-1) (x+2) (x-2)

Step-by-step explanation:

<u>Let u = x^2</u>

= u^2 - 5u + 4

<u>(Factor u^2 - 5u + 4)</u>

= (u-1) (u-4)

<u>Substitute back u = x^2</u>

= (x^2 -1 ) (x^2 - 4)

<u>Factor x^2 - 1 and x^2 -4</u>

= (x+1) (x-1) (x+2) (x-2)

Hope this helped... :)

PLZ HELP ASAP!!!!!!!,
lilavasa [31]
The answer to your question is 10 seconds. I know this because:

distance divided by speed=time
let t=time
t=2*6(30/36)=10
t=10
So, it took Boris a total of 10 seconds to run up the out of service elevator.

Hope this helps!

How do you graph the function g(x)
Verizon [17]
Lightly draw a vertical line at -3 (x= -3 is the divider) on the left side graph x + 1, on the right side graph 1/2x + 2.
because these equations don't match up at the -3 coordinate, you have to draw an open (not colored in) circle at the beginning at the 1/2x-2 equation
