Answer:

t=\frac{ln 3}{12ln(1 +\frac{0.07}{12})}

t=15.74

Step-by-step explanation:

( 1 + 0.07/12)^{12t} = 3

Take ln on both sides

ln(( 1 +\frac{0.07}{12})=ln 3

move the exponent 12t before ln as per log property

12tln(1 +\frac{0.07}{12})=ln 3

now divide the ln on both sides to make 12t alone

12t=\frac{ln 3}{ln(1 +\frac{0.07}{12})}

divide both sides on both sides

t=\frac{ln 3}{12ln(1 +\frac{0.07}{12})}

t=15.74

A polygon has an area of 225 square meters. If the area is tripled, how does each side length change?
krok68 [10]
Let me tell you the process so that you get to the answer
Remember first that the area of a regular polygon with x sides has  each of them a length which can be represented by y

<span>A = 1/4 * xy^2 * Cot(180/x) </span>
<span>The purpose is to solve for y, so we get </span>
<span>y^2 = 4A/(xCot(180/x)) </span>
<span>y = √(4A/(xCot(180/x)))

The thing we need to change is A in the previous formula and with that we can use the equaation to be a constant. This could be represented by Z
</span><span>Z = √(4/(xCot(180/x)))
so
</span><span>Y = Z√A
</span><span>If we increase area by a factor s, y increases by a factor of √x.
</span>So if you want to know the triple then you need to increase it by <span> √3 </span> <span>  </span>

CAN SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME WHAT THESE THREE DO/WHAT THEY MEAN? Please help I really don’t get it.
Lynna [10]
Lemme post a quick template of some help

\bf ~~~~~~~~~~~~\textit{function transformations}&#10;\\\\\\&#10;% templates&#10;f(x)=  A(  Bx+  C)+  D&#10;\\\\&#10;~~~~y=  A(  Bx+  C)+  D&#10;\\\\&#10;f(x)=  A\sqrt{  Bx+  C}+  D&#10;\\\\&#10;f(x)=  A(\mathbb{R})^{  Bx+  C}+  D&#10;\\\\&#10;f(x)=  A sin\left( B x+  C  \right)+  D&#10;\\\\&#10;--------------------

\bf \bullet \textit{ stretches or shrinks horizontally by  }   A\cdot   B\\\\&#10;\bullet \textit{ flips it upside-down if }  A\textit{ is negative}\\&#10;~~~~~~\textit{reflection over the x-axis}&#10;\\\\&#10;\bullet \textit{ flips it sideways if }  B\textit{ is negative}

\bf ~~~~~~\textit{reflection over the y-axis}&#10;\\\\&#10;\bullet \textit{ horizontal shift by }\frac{  C}{  B}\\&#10;~~~~~~if\ \frac{  C}{  B}\textit{ is negative, to the right}\\\\&#10;~~~~~~if\ \frac{  C}{  B}\textit{ is positive, to the left}\\\\&#10;\bullet \textit{ vertical shift by }  D\\&#10;~~~~~~if\   D\textit{ is negative, downwards}\\\\&#10;~~~~~~if\   D\textit{ is positive, upwards}\\\\&#10;\bullet \textit{ period of }\frac{2\pi }{  B}

so f(x) - k, is simply appending a constant "k", and thus is a vertical shift by k units.

f(x+h) is changing whatever "x" was to "x+h", and therefore is shifting the function to the left by h units.

f(x-h), is about the same as before, but is doing a horizontal shift to the right by h units.

Goodsprings has a tax base of $90,000,000 and a budget of $1,100,000. What is the tax rate in terms of mills?
nataly862011 [7]
The tax rate needed to balance the budget will be ...
  tax rate = (budget amount)/(tax base)
In millions*, this is
  tax rate = 1.1/90 = 0.0122... ≈ 12.2/1000 = 12.2‰

In terms of mils, the tax rate is 12.2.

_____
* As long as numerator and denominator are both expressed in millions, the factor of 1 million cancels from numerator and denominator and the fraction is the same value it would be if we put in all those zeros.
