Answer:

A gene can have different forms called alleles. These alleles can be dominant or recessive, heterozygous or homozygous. A diploid individual has two copies of chromosome one that came from a male parent and one from the female parent.

As a diploid individual have two copies of homologous chromosome and each chromosome can carry only one allele of a gene, therefore, the two homologous chromosomes can carry only 2 alleles of a gene.

These alleles are present at the same locus on the chromosome and the dominant allele express itself in the phenotype. Recessive allele can only be expressed if both the chromosome have recessive allele(homozygous condition). So 2 different alleles of a given gene a diploid individual can maximally carry.

Answer:

The correct answer will be- two alleles at same locus.

Explanation:

Diploidy is a condition represented by the two sets of chromosomes on an organism receiving one set of the chromosome from one parent.

The alleles represent the variable form of a gene which determines the trait of an organism. The alleles show is affected in organisms only when two corresponding alleles from each parent come together and shows their equivalent response in diploid organisms.

Since the diploid organism contains tow sets of organisms from each parent therefore, an diploid organism contains a maximum of two alleles at the same position or locus.

Difference between osmosis, diffusion and plasmolysis
pickupchik [31]
Osmosis is the movement of water particles from an area of high concentration of water particles to an area of low concentration of water particles across a semi permeable membrane

Diffusion is the movement of particles from an area of high concentration of particles to an area of low concentration of particles across a partially permeable membrane

Plasmolysis is the shrinking of the cytoplasm if a plant cell in response to diffusion of water out of the cell and into a high salt concentration solution as the cell membrane would pull away from the cell wall

Hope this helped

What five criteria must be met for a substance to be a mineral.
mafiozo [28]

Minerals may be defined as the combination of two or more elements of a substance.

Five criteria that exhibits a particle to be minerals;

 • They are natural and not man-made.
 • Inorganic i.e. not made by any organism.
 • Minerals are solids, not liquid or gas.
 • They have a definite chemical structure.
 • The atoms in minerals are arranged systematically and are arranged in a repeated pattern.

Minerals are natural and we use it in our day to day life. Products like salt and even a pencil have minerals. Also, these minerals help the parts in the human body to grow faster and function properly.
