Hello!

First we look at the equation to find two points and the y intercept

The y-intercept is (0, -6)

The slope is 4 so two of the points are (1, -2) and (2, 2)

Now we look at the inequality sign

Since the sign is less than the line is going to be a dotted line and the section underneath the line is going to be shaded in

The graph should have a dotted line that goes through the points (0, 6),
(1, -2) and (2, 2) with the section to the right of the line shaded in

Hope this helps!

If the reserve rate is 3% and a bank receives a deposit of $16,000, how much of the $16,000 is the bank free to loan out?
Oliga [24]

The reserve rate is what the bank keeps. This means it can loan out ( 100% -3%) = 97% of the deposit.

16,000 x 0.97 = $15,520 can be loaned out.

A number is multiplied by 8, and that product is added to 2. The sum is equal to the product of 2 and 25. Find the number.
LenKa [72]

Answer: the number = 6

Step-by-step explanation:

Let x be the number.

Set equation according to the information given

2 + 8x = 2 × 25

Simplify by multiplication

2 + 8x = 50

Subtract 2 on both sides

2 + 8x - 2 = 50 - 2

8x = 48

Divide 8 on both sides

8x / 8 = 48 / 8

\boxed {x=6}

Hope this helps!! :)

17 m

Answer:

 120 m²

Step-by-step explanation:

If you divide the isosceles triangle into two right triangles, each has a leg and hypotenuse of 8 and 17, respectively. You may recognize these numbers as part of the Pythagorean triple (8, 15, 17). That recognition tells you the triangle's height is 15 m, so its area is ...

 A = 1/2bh

 A = 1/2(16 m)(15 m) = 120 m² . . . . triangle area

__

Alternate solutions

Given the three sides, you can find the smallest angle from the Law of Cosines. It will be ...

 α = arccos((17² +17² -16²)/(2·17·17)) ≈ 56.144°

Then the area is ...

 A = 1/2·ab·sin(C) . . . for triangle with sides a, b, c and opposite angles A, B, C

 A = 1/2sin(α)·17·17 = 120 . . . m²

__

Using Heron's formula:

 s = (17 +17 +16)/2 = 25

 A = √(25(25 -17)(25 -17)(25 -16)) = 5×8×3 = 120 . . . m²

__

If you need to, you can compute the triangle's height from the Pythagorean theorem.

 a² +b² = c² . . . . generic Pythagorean theorem equation

 8² + h² = 17² . . . with relevant values filled in

 h² = 289 -64 = 225

 h = √225 = 15
