Most of the population of the world is concentrated on the continental margins, or more specifically, along the coastlines. This is due to multiple factors, some of which are:

- Climate;

The climate in the coastal regions is usually much more pleasant that the climate deeper into the mainland, so naturally the people preferred to live where it is more pleasant.

- Arable land;

In close proximity to the coastline there's usually nice fertile soil, so it is very suitable for production of food, thus managing to sustain yourself.

- Economy;

The coastal regions, in lots of cases, are well suited for building ports, and that makes them excellent places from where trade can take place, so it strengthens the economy of these places.

Now that you understand the basics about the Berlin Airlift, formulate three questions about this event that you want to know mo
tangare [24]

The correct answer to this open question is the following.

The three questions about the Berlin Airlift are the following.

1.- Why did Soviet leader Joseph Stalin order such an "evil" thing?

2.- What was the reaction of the western European allies to that decision?

3.- How everything ended after almost one year of the blockade?

Here are my answers.

1.- Why did Soviet leader Joseph Stalin order such an "evil" thing?

The Soviet Union needed to have a powerful answer against the allied forces after the recent events. Furthermore, Joseph Stalin wanted to show his power. After Joseph Stalin ordered the blockade of Berlin, people were totally disconnected and could not have any type of contact with the outer world.

2.- What was the reaction of the western European allies to that decision?

The United States and Great Britain would not allow the Soviet Union to spread its influence by cutting Americans off from friendly peoples and territories. That was mainly the goal when they decided to start the Berlin airlift.

That is why on June 26, 1948, Great Britain and the United States started to send help and supplies to Berlin using airplanes. President Harry S. Truman wanted to avoid a direct confrontation with Russia or the possibility of another war in the region, that is why he opted for help by air.

3.- How everything ended after almost one year of the blockade?

In May 1949, the USSR lifted the blockade. It was clear to Stalin that his blockade has failed.

The types of organisms that can live in an environment may be determined by the _______. All of the following are true EXCEPT:
ivann1987 [24]

Answer:

A. amount of solar energy available

Explanation:

  • The size and type of organisms that can afford to live in the environment is guided by all the following types of systems as compared to the solar energy available at the outer surface of the earth thus energy when reaching on the earth's surface is converted and then it reaches to the organisms.
  • Hence the amount of entropy and size of the plants is directly related to the development and growth of types of organisms on earth. As various relationships exist within the ecosystem and are there are competition and there a link within the predation, mutualism, and parasitism.
  • Thus the type of environment where the organism develops and sustains will be defined by its physical and chemical habitats.

What about drought and desertification
DochEvi [55]

Drought and desertification are closely related phenomena. Persisting over months or years, drought can affect large areas and may have serious environmental, social and economic impacts. While drought is a natural phenomenon, whose impacts can be exacerbated by human activities that are not adapted to the local climate, land degradation is the process of turning fertile land into less or non-productive land. In extreme cases in drylands this is called desertification. Land degradation and desertification are complex phenomena driven by un-adapted human activity in combination with land and climatic constraints. Inappropriate land use, such as monocultures, and unsustainable land management practices, such as deforestation, unsuitable agricultural practices and overexploitation of water resources), can cause land degradation that can be further aggravated by drought.
