Read the following quote from U.S. Congressman Gerry Studds, “If John Cabot were alive today, he would not recognize Georges Ban

k. Instead of a sea swarming with majestic cod, he would find dogfish. Instead of flounder, he would find skates. Instead of a fishermen's dream, he would find a nightmare“. (1991) What do you think he meant by this quote?

He is talking about the aspirations of a death man, John Cabot, and the "good" things he hoped for Georges Bank. He wanted greatness, and the reality was there was not more than a disaster. Nothing had turned the way he expected.

We can notice because of the contrast seen in the words used: He wanted lots and good fishes, (using a metaphor) and got bad and disastrous ones.

Answer: Germany was stepping up its efforts to stop goods from reaching the Allies.

Explanation:

But by 1917 Germany went on the offense with submarines again, hoping to end the war and win. However, this was one of the factors that pulled the USA into the war, and Germany lost.

Suppose you are a delegate at the Constitutional Convention. Write a journal entry describing the arguments from each side of th
Leokris [45]

Answer:

Journal Entry:

Supporters of the Jersey Plan mostly come from the larger states like New York or New Jersey. They believe that the seats of Congress should be distributed according to the states population. This plan clearly benefits the larger states.

Supporters of the Virginia Plan mostly come from the smaller states and the South. They feel that the seats of Congress should be distributed equally among the states, regardless of population size. This plan clearly benefits the least populated states.

A compromise should be reached that benefits both sides. Perhaps a bicameral Congress with one chamber benefiting the most populated states, and the other chamber benefiting the least populated states.
