How would the deletion of the shine–dalgarno sequence affect a bacterial mrna?

Biology

Anettt [7]3 years ago

Answer: Translation initiation cannot take place, preventing translation (protein synthesis)

Explanation:

The Shine-Dalgarno Sequence is a sequence found in the messenger RNA of bacteria. It s a ribosomal binding site located around 8 bases upstream of the start codon AUG, which indicates where translation must start.

To carry out protein synthesis, the ribosome (the organelle where translation takes place) reads the sequence of mRNA bases that encode for that protein.

The Shine-Dalgarno Sequence recruits the ribosome to the messenger RNA that is going to be translated, then it alignes this molecule with the start codon to initiate protein synthesis.

If this sequence is absent, then the translation can not take place because the messenger RNA is not able to bind to the ribosome.

What kind of monomers make up lipids
bogdanovich [222]

The kind of monomers that make up the lipids are the fatty acid and the glycerol.

Lipids or the fats are the organic compounds containing two kinds of monomers called the fatty acid and the glycerol. Fatty acids are the carboxylic acids made up of a hydrocarbon chain with a terminal hydroxyl group. Glycerol is an alcohol containing three carbon, five hydrogen and multiple hydroxyl groups (usually three) and it forms the back bone of all the lipids. The most abundant lipid called the triglycerides are the esters of fatty acids and glycerol.

Which of the following situations or phrases most accurately describes the citric acid cycle?
Bond [772]

The correct answer is: B) "All roads lead to Rome"

Citric acid cycle also called tricarboxylic acid (TCA) cycle and Krebs cycle is a central process in cellular respiration. Citric acid cycle that connects carbohydrate, fat, and protein metabolism so “all the roads” from the different metabolic pathways come to this cycle.

Acetyl-CoA which is produced through the oxidation of pyruvate (pyruvate is a product of glycolysis) enters the cycle which then produces reduced electron carriers NADH, FAD2 and energy molecule ATP. These electron carriers will then pass their electrons into the electron transport chain and, through the process of oxidative phosphorylation, will produce more ATP.

kumpel [21]

Answer:

The way they classify this practice is known as "Matrilineal"

Explanation:

Matrilineal tells us about the mother's line, this is basically done to restore the traits that are present in mother side. It is an important part of the anthropology. This phenomenon determines the heir of the property after the death of the property owner. In general terms it is the relative, behavior or other traits that has been traced through the mother lineage. They have the exogamic blood kin which is being related to mother line. Also referred as "Those from one womb or one bone".
