The Tet Offensive was launched on January 30, 1968 by North Vietnam. It was a series of suprise attacks against military and civilian forces alike throughout South Vietnam. The South was able to regroup quickly and attacked back resulting in many North Viatnamese causalties. However, the battle of the Hue resulted in the loss of lives of many South Viatamese and support from the American public decreased as any hopes of defeating North Vietnam was diminishing.

slamgirl [31]

Ramona by Helen Hunt Jackson

This book, published in 1884, was a description and celebration of Spanish and Mexican culture in California. However, these depictions were largely made-up and romanticized. Despite this, it created a tourist boom for the state, causing Americans to become interested and excited about California.
