  • Visitors are obliged to pay for the entrance.
  • Visitors are expected to take care of themselves during the visit.
  • Visitors are not allowed to poke the animals.
  • No visitors are permitted to pick of the flowers.
  • Provoking the birds and animals is strictly prohibited.
  • Film industries and other types of shooting is permitted to develop their documentaries paying certain royalty.
  • Students are supposed to carry the ID card for the facility.
  • No visitors are allowed to remain in the zoo after the opening hours.

Generally simple present and simple future tenses are used to prepare the rules and regulations. In simple present the passive structure is used. Must, should and such other model auxiliary verbs are used to make rules and regulations. Gerund form is also used for this purpose. Hence, some illustrative sentences are given

a. ...is/are + allowed/not allowed + to infinitive.

For example:

Visitors are allowed to enjoy the beauty of the park.

Visitors are not allowed to feed the animals in the park.

for example

c. ...is/are + prohibited/forbidden + to infinitive

for example

Passengers are expected to reach the station on time.

Passengers are expected to book the ticket before the journey.

for example

Juniors are supposed to respect the seniors and elders.

You are supposed not to ask the others income.

for example

Costumers are obliged to pay the bill before leaving.

Workers are obliged to place the application for leave.

g. ...must/must not + infinitive

For example

Students must attend school with fixed uniforms.

Students must not go out during the school hours.

for example

Students should carry their books to school.

Students should not carry valuable articles to school.
