It was the size of the crowd. Thousands marched to the Lincoln Memorial
where they called for more freedom and more job opportunities. These were denied to many African Americans
due to the system of segregation. Many
prominent speakers lent their voices to the march including Dr. Martin Luther
King, Jr.
There were various reasons why the United States decided to follow a policy of isolation during the 1930's.
First off, the Great Depression pushed people away from foreign affairs as they wanted to resolve internal affairs first.
Second off, the number of soldiers lost in World War I kept citizens of the USA weary of foreign countries.
Because of World War I, many citizens that were advocating for isolationism pushed the country to stay out of World War II and affairs that they had no business in (at least until Germany sunk the Lusitania).
Hope this helps!
<span>Good Morning!
The phenomenon that did not occur in England but occurred in France during the period of revolutions was the extension of votes to a greater number of men. Violent revolutions, as well as popular demonstrations and increased middle-class power occurred in a similar way, mainly because of the growth of the bourgeoisie's financial power. In 1831, for example, only 4,500 men out of a total of 2.6 million people had the right to vote in England.
