The conflict energized anti-British sentiment and paved the way for the American .

2. Tensions began to grow, and in Boston in February 1770 a patriot mob attacked a British loyalist, who fired a gun at them, killing a boy. In the ensuing days brawls between colonists and British soldiers eventually culminated in the Boston Massacre.

3.The Boston Massacre was a street fight that occurred on March 5, 1770, between a "patriot" mob, throwing snowballs, stones, and sticks, and a squad of British soldiers. Several colonists were killed and this led to a campaign by speech-writers to rouse the ire of the citizenry.

1.Why did the principles outlined in the Declaration of independence inspire revolutions in other parts of the world?
PSYCHO15rus [73]
  1. The Declaration of Independence has also been a source of inspiration outside the United States. It encouraged Antonio de Nariño and Francisco de Miranda to strive toward overthrowing the Spanish empire in South America, and it was quoted with enthusiasm by the marquis de Mirabeau during the French Revolution.
  2. The Americans' victory over the British may have been the single greatest impact on the French Revolution. The French people saw that a revolt could be successful – even against a major military power – and lasting change was possible. Many experts argue that this gave them the motivation to rebel
  3. Both want a change from being ruled by an absolute ruler, both have economic instability from war debt, both have social inequality. And also, both started because of enlightenment ideas
  4. Slaves initiated the rebellion in 1791 and by 1803 they had succeeded in ending not just slavery but French control over the colony. These revolutions were influenced by the French Revolution of 1789, which would come to represent a new concept of human rights, universal citizenship, and participation in government.

AP US History question:
tresset_1 [31]
Reconstruction is largely seen as a failure, and many historians believe this was primarily because the South for so long had been dependent on slaves that in one swift motion the South's entire livelihood shifted. This dramatic shift was too much for the Southerners to absorb at once, and harsh Jim Crow laws sprang up.
