Explanation:

Air mass refers to the presence of thick dense heavy air on the above of ground surface in stable condition. Where cold and warm air contrast that place is ideal for the creation of air mass. Air mass is of four types: continental, maritime, tropical and polar.

Ilia_Sergeevich [38]
In the post-industrial era, an edge city is a concentration of businesses, shopping and entertainment outside a traditional downtown in a location which had either been residential or rural. These were cities that often developed near airports, as many airports developed outside of city centers but close enough to have ease of access for people coming in and coming out. Examples of an edge city are Tysons Corner, Virginia (lies next to Washington,DC) and Detroit's New Center, which was within Detroit's city limits, but away from downtown.

Which of the following statements best describe why the Dead Sea's water levels are decreasing?
Alexandra [31]

More water is siphoned off the Jordan River for agriculture.

Explanation:

The Dead Sea is actually a lake that has a saline water. In fact, it is the water of body that has the highest salinity in the world. It is located in a depression, the deepest in the world, and also in an arid area. This lake is getting water from the Jordan River, and it doesn't have an outlet, but despite that, the lake is actually gradually decreasing lately.

There are two main reasons as two why the decrease of the water levels occurs. The main reason is that more and more water from the Jordan River is used by the population in the region, be it for drinking or irrigation, which in turn means that the amount of water that enters the Dead Sea is decreased. That combined with the second reason, which is the arid climate, contributes to higher evaporation of the water than water that enters the lake, thus the water levels gradually go down.

Why can flying from Seattle to Boston take less time than flying from Boston to Seattle in the same aircraft?
Sphinxa [80]

Answer:

Because at those latitudes the jet stream, which is a very high altitude wind, always blows from the West to the East. The planes moving at a constant air speed thus go faster in the West-East direction when they are moving with the wind than in the opposite direction.
