There are 5 stages in the development of hunters. They are:
1. Shooting stage
2. Method Stage
3. Limiting out stage
4. Trophy stage
5. Sportsman stage.
In the shooting stage, the hunter is very excited and over eager to get a shot, any shot and usually shoots at the first animal that avails itself.
This keenness can lead to the hunter making bad decisions like endangering others with his shot, injuring the animal instead of killing it or selecting and shooting at the wrong animal.
