Isn't it a function considered a function if it has no intersecting lines? Maybe you should graph it and see if it has intersecting lines or not. If it doesn't the it's a function if
it does then it's not. I think..?

What is the justification for the step taken from line 2 to line 3?
stiv31 [10]

Step-by-step explanation:

3x+9-7x=x+10+x\\-4x+9=2x+10\\-6x+9=10\\

  • In the line 2, only variables were operated with a reduction of similar terms in each side of the equation, giving as result -4x at one side, and 2x at the other side.
  • In the line 3, terms with variables were joined together in one side of the equation, and then, they were operate it, given as result -6X.

PLEASE HELP
Nookie1986 [14]

For the square with side length n, the diagonal measures:

d = \sqrt{2} *n

<h3>How to get the length of the diagonal?</h3>

The sidelength of the square is n, and we want to get the length of the diagonal d.

Notice that the diagonal is the hypotenuse of a right triangle whose catheti measure n.

Then we can use the Pythagorean theorem, which says that the square of the hypotenuse is equal to the sum of the squares of the cathetus;

d^2 = n^2 + n^2\\\\d^2 = 2n^2\\\\d = \sqrt{2n^2} \\\\d = \sqrt{2}*n

That is the length of the diagonal.

A circle has a circumference of 37 millimeters. What is the circle's
olasank [31]

Answer:

5.9

Step-by-step explanation:

To find radius from circumference you need to divide it by pie. So 37 divided by 3.14 is 11.7834394904. This is the diameter. Now divide it by 2, in this case it is 5.89171974522. When you round to the nearest tenth it gives you 5.9. Hope this Helps!
