What 30% of 180? Show work
Deffense [45]
To get the solution, we are looking for, we need to point out what we know.

1. We assume, that the number 180 is 100% - because it's the output value of the task.
2. We assume, that x is the value we are looking for.
3. If 180 is 100%, so we can write it down as 180=100%.
4. We know, that x is 30% of the output value, so we can write it down as x=30%.
5. Now we have two simple equations:
1) 180=100%
2) x=30%
where left sides of both of them have the same units, and both right sides have the same units, so we can do something like that:
180/x=100%/30%
6. Now we just have to solve the simple equation, and we will get the solution we are looking for.

7. Solution for what is 30% of 180

180/x=100/30
(180/x)*x=(100/30)*x - we multiply both sides of the equation by x
180=3.33333333333*x - we divide both sides of the equation by (3.33333333333) to get x
180/3.33333333333=x
54=x
x=54

now we have:
30% of 180=54

If the sum of five times a number and two times the same number is increased by 4, the result is 25. Find the number.
Nezavi [6.7K]

Answer:

The number x = 3

Step-by-step explanation:

Let 'x ' be the positive integer

Given data If the sum of five times a number and two times the same number and the same number is increased by 4 and the result is 25

sum of five times a number is 5 x and same number two times is 2 x and increased by 4 (addition) then result is equal to 25

so finally  5 x +2 x +4 = 25

               7 x + 4 = 25

subtracting '4' on both sides , we get

               7 x = 25 -4

               7 x = 21

dividing '7' on both sides, we get

\frac{7x}{7} = \frac{21}{7}

x=3

Therefore the number is x = 3

Verification :-

5 x +2 x +4 = 25

substitute x = 3 in above equation

15+6+4 = 25

25 =25

Final answer :-

The number is 3
