Answer:

- Compound sentence.

Explanation:

A compound sentence is described as a sentence that contains a minimum of two or more independent clauses in them which are linked either with a coordinating conjunction(like but, and, yet, etc.) or with a semicolon(;).

It could never be a 'complex sentence' as a complex sentence consists of at least one subordinate clause along with a dependent clause. Therefore, the sentences having two or more self-sufficient sentences are characterized as 'compound sentence' functions to link the two separate ideas together. For example:

'He needs a car, but he has no money.'

'Joseph is a great painter, yet he hesitates to showcase his work.'

'The Doctors arrived, the nurses prepared the operation theater, and the surgery took place.'

The given sentences exemplify 'compound sentence' as they include two or more independent clauses without any subordinate clause. Each sentence is independent in itself. Thus, the 'compound sentence' is the answer.

Compound Sentence

Further Explanation:

In English, Compound Sentence is equable of at least two independent clauses. Compound sentences do not require a clause that is dependent and the clauses in the compound sentences are formed by a coordinating conjunction along with a semicolon which functions as a conjunction.

A colon can also be used in compound sentence in place of a semicolon between two sentences and it is required when there is a second sentence that explains or illustrates the first sentence and if there is no coordinating conjunction already applied in order to connect those sentences of if there is an conjunctive proverb that goes through the semicolon. Words such as And, But, Or, Nor, yet and so are the conjunctions. When there is implementation of a comma in order to separate two independent clauses but there is no addition of an appropriate conjunction, This is known as Comma Splice.
