Answer:

The correct answer for: Just before a major singing competition, one of the singers loses his voice. a physical examination reveals no medical cause for the condition. this is most likely a case of: Conversion disorder

Explanation:

Ok, this is a very difficult question because it is very open and we don't have a single bit of clinical history or major traumatic events. But what we do have is the following. She was in a singing competition. There were medics and they examined her resuming she had no physical causes of the loss. This is an stress, anxiety-related event. But it's not illness anxiety disorder because first of all she has no symptoms and she is not worried about being sick. She just lost the voice, in some sort of catatonia way. We know this is related to anxiety and stress. She has no anxiety attack episode or breakdown, so it is not something related to depression or any major disorder. But we do know she was under pressure, she was frustrated and her body reacted to avoid the danger. So, she somatized all of that stress making her lose her voice. This is a case of conversion disorder because conversion disorder is related to stress, low tolerance to frustration, high levels of anxiety, hysteria, and catatonia. Losing neurological functions without any kind of organic damage.
