The Northwest Ordinance was the most important of the three different acts. It was important because it enabled the government of the Northwest Territory to become a part of the union.

Reconstruction succeeded in its goals of restoring the Union and helping to "<span>d. repair the war-torn South" although many would agree that Reconstruction failed because discrimination still existed. </span>
