Baking a tray of chocolate chip cookies takes three cups of milk and two cups of flour. Baking a tray of oatmeal raisin cookies

takes one cup of milk and four cups of flour. The baker has 9 cups of milk and 16 cups of flour available. He makes $2.50 profit per tray of chocolate chip cookies and $2 profit per tray of oatmeal raisin. How many trays of each type of cookies should be make to maximize his profit?

Step-by-step explanation:

this is a linear programming problem.

the objective is to maximize profit

let the chocolate be x

and cookies be y

Maximize

2.5x+2y=P

constraint milk

3x+y=9------------------1

constraint flour

2x+4y=16----------------2

solving 1 and 2

3x+y=9

2x+4y=16

multiply 1 by 2 and 2  3 to eliminate x we have

  6x+2y=18

 6x+12y=48

-0-10x=-30

10y=30

y=30/10

y=3

put y= 3 in eqn 1 we have

3x+3=9

3x=9-3

3x=6

x=6/3

x=2

two trays of chocolate

three trays of cookies

2.5x+2y=P

2.5(2)+2(3)=P

5+6=P

P=$11

Hello from MrBillDoesMath!

Answer:

sin(A) =   k/c

sin(C) =   k/a

Discussion:

By definition of sine ,

sin(A) = side opposite angle / hypotenuse  =  k/c

sin(C) = side opposite angle/ hypotenuse =  k/a

Added remark:

From the first equation, k = c sin(A). From the second equation k = asin(C). Hence.

asin(C) = csin(A)                => divide both sides by "ac"

sin(C)/ c = sin(A)/a

Which is the law of sines for a triangle.

Thank you,

MrB

Domain, x={ -2, -1, 0, 1, 2} The range, Y = x - 7.
FromTheMoon [43]

Answer:y =-9,-8,-7,-6,-5

Step-by-step explanation:

Is this what you need? To find the y values you take an x value and subtract 7. Like the first one -2 would turn into -9

Find the values of the measures shown when each value in the data set increases by 25. Mean: 109 Median: 104 Mode: 96 Range: 45
Vikki [24]

Answer:

The new values are as follows:

Mean: 134

Median: 129

Mode: 121

Range=45

Standard Deviation=3.6

Step-by-step explanation:

When a k real number is added to all the elements of the dataset, the new measures of center (mean, median, and mode) are simply found by adding the value k to the previous values. Thus

Mean_{new}=Mean_{old}+k

Here Mean_{old} is 109 and k is 25 thus

Mean_{new}=Mean_{old}+k\\Mean_{new}=109+25\\Mean_{new}=134

Similarly

Median_{new}=Median_{old}+k

Here Median_{old} is 104 and k is 25 thus

Median_{new}=Median_{old}+k\\Median_{new}=104+25\\Median_{new}=129

Also

Mode_{new}=Mode_{old}+k

Here Mode_{old} is 96 and k is 25 thus

Mode_{new}=Mode_{old}+k\\Mode_{new}=96+25\\Mode_{new}=121

When a k real number is added to all the elements of the dataset, the new measures of variation (range and standard deviation) remain the same thus.

Range_{new}=Range_{old}\\Range_{new}=45

Similarly

Standard\ Deviation_{new}=Standard\ Deviation_{old}\\Standard\ Deviation_{new}=3.6

So the new values of mean, median, mode, range, and standard deviation are 134, 129, 121, 45, and 3.6 respectively.
