Read the excerpt from the Barack Obama speech “Remarks by the President at the 50th Anniversary of the Selma to Montgomery March

es.”
That’s why Selma is not some outlier in the American experience. That’s why it’s not a museum or a static monument to behold from a distance. It is instead the manifestation of a creed written into our founding documents: “We the People…in order to form a more perfect union.” “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal.”

These are not just words. They’re a living thing, a call to action, a roadmap for citizenship and an insistence in the capacity of free men and women to shape our own destiny. For founders like Franklin and Jefferson, for leaders like Lincoln and FDR, the success of our experiment in self-government rested on engaging all of our citizens in this work. And that’s what we celebrate here in Selma. That’s what this movement was all about, one leg in our long journey toward freedom.

How does Obama use a constitutional principle in the excerpt to strengthen his argument that the Selma march was an important part of the civil rights movement?

Remarks by the President at Selma

Obama focuses on republicanism to highlight the fact that our founding fathers also fought for the same equality that was fought for in Alabama.

Obama focuses on the consent of the governed to emphasize that all actions should be based on what is stated in historical documents.

Obama focuses on the consent of the governed to stress that our country was founded on the idea that people have the ability to control their own rights.

Obama focuses on republicanism to draw the audience’s attention to the fact that they are the only ones who can change the government and the outlook of the nation.

Bumek [7]
Pip was a moderately happy, satisfied young man until he met Miss Havisham and Estella. So this transformed him by in light of the fact that this is the first occasion when anybody has ever constructed Pip mindful of the distinctions in social status and riches. He feels hurt and confounded. From this day forward, he sustains a developing abhorrence for the existence he already needed. Presently his attention is on turning into a refined man, somebody Estella will admore, regard, and maybe cherish.

The core idea of A Club Pilot is that you must struggle for what you want in life, while the central ideas of Barrio Boy are identity and belonging.

How should the information be illustrated?

It should be remembered that Mark Twain discusses his experience working for a volatile boss in Cub Pilot. He provided examples of the effects bullies have on other people.

Ernesto Galarza's autobiographical book Barrio Boy describes his family's escape from their small Mexican community and the ensuing hardships they had adjusting to life in America.

Mark Twain describes his two years as a steamboat pilot apprentice in this biography. A person who works for a master artisan in exchange for training is called an apprentice. Twain attributes these years to his capacity to comprehend many people, both actual and imagined

Here, the key idea of A Club Pilot is that you must struggle to achieve your goals in life, while the central ideas of Barrio Boy are identity and belonging

5. What is the historical backdrop of the story "The Last Lesson"?
natka813 [3]
Can you send a picture? I need more information about the article but I am pretty sure that it is A) the French invasion of Germany.

Expansion
The story, 'The Last Lesson' has been set in the background of the Franco-Prussian war that was fought in 1870-71 between Prussia and France. The Prussians captured the districts of Alsace and Lorraine. New orders were issued according to which German language was to be taught in place of French in these two districts. It doesn’t have anything to do with World War l or ll so it have to be A) or D). The Germans didn’t invade Alsace, the Prussians did so D) can’t be it. The only answer left is A) so you’re answer would have to be A).

Ede4ka [16]
Referring to an excerpt from “I Explain a Few Things” by Pablo Neruda the correct choice is: By addressing the reader directly and asking the reader to see what is happening in Spain, the speaker reinforces his view that poetry could and should be used to inspire action—not just to describe beautiful things.
