A machine can be purchased for $250,000 and used for five years, yielding the following net incomes. In projecting net incomes,

straight-line depreciation is applied, using a five-year life and a zero salvage value.
Year 1 Year 2 Year 3 Year 4 Year 5
Net income $ 17,000 $ 42,000 $ 119,000 $ 63,500 $ 168,000

Answer:

2.53 years

Explanation:

For computing the payback period, first we have to find out the depreciation expense which is shown below:

= (Purchase value of machine - residual value) ÷ (useful life)

= ($250,000 - $0) ÷ (5 years)

= ($250,000) ÷ (5 years)

= $50,000

Now the cash flows would be

Year Net income Depreciation Net cash flow

Year 0 ($250,000)

Year 1 $17,000 $50,000 $67,000

Year 2 $42,000 $50,000 $92,000

Year 3 $119,000 $50,000 $169,000

Year 4 $63,500 $50,000 $113,500

Year 5 $168,000 $50,000 $218,000

As we add the first 2 year net cash flows than it would be $159,000

Now we deduct the $159,000 from the $2500,000 , so the amount would be $91,000 as if we added the third year cash inflow so the total amount exceed to the initial investment. Therefore, we subtract that, and the next year's cash inflow will be $169,000.

So, the payback period would be

= 2 years + $91,000 ÷ $169,000

= 2.53 years

Which statement is true about an original fashion and its knockoff? A. The knockoff will be more expensive than the original. B.
qaws [65]

Answer:

D. The knockoff may miss the finer fit and design details of the original.

Explanation:

Knockoffs are popular in the fashion industry of today. Why? Since most designer items are highly wanted, but unreachable and too expensive for the masses, some manufacturers opted to create replicas of those items.

These items are often made in mass production factories. This is why they often miss the artisan and fine touch of the original designer item.

Barlow owns the surface rights for Canyon Ranch, but does not own the subsurface rights. Dusty owns the subsurface rights. Canyo
yarga [219]

Answer:

A) Dusty.

Explanation:

Generally, when you are dealing with property rights and any damages that occur to real property, the individual that possesses the oldest structure can sue other individuals that damage his/her structure by building or developing a new one.

E.g. in many cities, buildings or even homes tend to be built right next to other homes or buildings (specially in down town areas). If you are building a house right next to an existing house and the walls are damaged because because you dug to build a basement, then you are responsible and liable for the damages even if you never invaded the other property.

Mazyrski [523]

Answer:

you're receiving too small of a gain

Explanation:

Based on the information provided within the question it can be said that offering a price so low that buyers immediately accept it might mean you're receiving too small of a gain. That is because if a buyer is immediately accepting it, then it can be because they realize that it is a great deal and that they will most likely not find a better price anywhere else and immediately decide to buy it from you. Therefore you can be selling it for an increased profit margin by increasing the price.
