To find the missing length you must break this shape into two other shapes. A square, and a right triangle. To do this you take the top value and subtract the bottom. 8-5=3. So one value of the triangle is 3, and the side is 5 since it is parallel and equal to the sides of the square. To find the missing value, you will use the formula "a^2+b^2=c^2." Side A will be our side value of 5. 5x5=25. Side B will be the value of 3. 3x3=9. 25+9=34. And now we find the square root of 34. This is 5.830951895.

A store had 112 diet sodas. The ratio of diet sodas to regular sodas was 8:4. How many regular sodas were there?
IceJOKER [234]

Answer:

56

Step-by-step explanation:

There are two ways the answer to this question can be determined

Method 1 : the fast method

We know that 8 is twice 4

4 x 2 = 8

The ratio of diet soda = 8

the ratio of regular sodas = 4

Diet sodas = 112

the number of regular sodas = 112 / 2 = 56

Method 2 : The long method

I would first determine the total number of diet and regular sodas. Let the total number be represented by d

from the question, the following equation can be derived :

(8/12) x d = 112

divide both sides of the equation by 12/8 to determine the value of d

d = 112 x (12/8) = 168

We can now derive a value for the number of regular soda

regular sodas = ( ratio of regular sodas / total soda) x total number of sodas

(4/12) x 168 = 56

A sum of money invested at 8% per annum for simple interests amounts to $12122 in 2 years.What ill it amounts to in 2 years 8 mo
Jobisdone [24]

Answer:

 $12,958

Step-by-step explanation:

The total amount of the account, principal plus interest, is given by ...

 A = P(1 +rt)

The given information tells us ...

 12,122 = P(1 + .08×2) = 1.16P

Then the principal amount is ...

 12,122/1.16 = 10,450

__

When that same amount is invested using a different rate and time period, it becomes ...

 A = 10,450(1 + .09×(2 2/3)) = 10,450×1.24 = 12,958

It will amount to $12,958 in 2 years 8 months at 9%.
