To solve this, we need to know what 501,800,000 is in scientific notation. We can figure out what <span>501,800,000 is in scientific notation by first figuring out what we're going to be multiplying by ten to the power of x. We're going to multiply 5.018 by 10 to the power of x because it 5.018 is the what happens when you put a dot after the first number and then get rid of all the zeroes after the last non-zero number (which is what scientific notation is about). Now we need to figure out what we need to multiply 5.018 by to get to </span>501,800,000. We need to multiply 5.018 by 10^{8} to get to 501,800,000, so <span>501,800,000 in scientific notation is 5.018 </span>· 10^{8}. Since we now see that the two values are not equal, the answer to the question is false.

Hello!

Scientific notation is expressing a large number in a simpler form by multiplying it by 10^{x}.

In our case we need this number in scientific notation to equal the large number in standard.

5.018(10^{-8})=0.00000005018

This answer is false because if you use a negative exponent you make the number not bigger but smaller and the answer we got does not match the standard number.

I hope this helps!

Answer:

<h2>560</h2>

Step-by-step explanation:

You must use a combination:

_nC_k=\dfrac{n!}{k!(n-k)!}

We have <em>n = 16</em>, <em>k = 3</em>.

Substitute:

_{16}C_3=\dfrac{16!}{3!(16-3)!}=\dfrac{13!\cdot14\cdot15\cdot16}{2\cdot3\cdot13!}\qquad\text{cancel}\ 13!\\\\=\dfrac{14\cdot15\cdot16}{2\cdot3}=\dfrac{7\cdot5\cdot16}{1}=560
