Answer:

The Russian Revolution happened in 1917.

Explanation:

The Russian Revolution of 1917 was an important event in twentieth-century world history. France's state revolution in 1789 AD affected Europe's life on a deeper level by propagating the spirit of freedom, equality and brotherhood. The pervasiveness of the Russian Revolution was much broader than all the political events so far.

How did the women's march against apartheid end?
MrMuchimi

Answer:

Although African men had been required to carry passes for many decades, only in the 1950s did the government impose pass laws on African women. African women were not allowed to live in towns unless they had permission to be employed there, and extending pass laws to them made it more difficult for women without jobs to take their children and join their husbands in town. Across the country, dozens of protests against passing laws for African women took place before the Federation of South African Women (formed in 1955) and the African National Congress Women’s League organized a massive protest march in Pretoria.

On August 9, 1956, 20,000 women, representing all racial backgrounds, came from all over South Africa to march on the Union Buildings, where they stood in silent protest for 30 minutes while petitions with 100,000 signatures were delivered to the Prime Minister’s office. Many men in the anti-apartheid movement were surprised by the women’s militancy, and the protest contributed to women playing a bigger role in the struggle for freedom and democracy. August 9th now is celebrated as National Women’s Day in South Africa.

Why was the battle of Midway such an important battle in the war for the Pacific? Explain your answer.
Hoochie [10]

Answer: It effectively ended Japanese Naval Supremacy.

Explanation:

Before the Battle of Midway, the Japanese were a very formidable force in the Pacific. Their navy boasted of several aircraft carriers which allowed them to sink ships with planes and they used this to devastating effect against the Americans at Pearl Harbor and the Australians.

The Japanese knew that if they could capture Midway, they would get the opportunity to negotiate favorably with the Americans and the Americans knew they could not lose Midway due to its strategic location.

The Americans broke the Japanese code for the battle and figured out their plans and used this to inflict a heavy loss on the Japanese by sinking 4 of their aircraft carriers. The Japanese Navy never recovered from this and for the rest of the war, they were on the defensive.

How did the Boxer Rebellion ultimately benefit the United States?
Tresset [83]

The Boxer Rebellion was an anti-foreign and anti-christian movement in China. This was the result of western missionaries arriving in China in the 1860's to convert the locals to christianism, in a country of a predominant taosim and confucionism population. This strong anti-foreign movement was created by a group called "The Boxers" and they seeked rebellion against western powers.

The Boxer Rebellion positively affected USA-Asian relations because of the U.S. suppression of the rebellion which resulted in the end of dynasties and the initiation of the Open Door policy in China, which stopped any country from imperializing China. This event helped to take a country that had been long resentful of foreigners and open it up, overall strengthening the relationship between them and the U.S.
