Remark

What you are trying to do is isolate the y value. Then you just interpret what you found.

Equation

-9x + 10y = - 9

Solve

x and y must be on opposite sides of the equal sign. Add 9x to both sides.

10y =  9x - 9                  Divide by 10

y = 9x/10 - 9/10

There's the equation. Now all you need do is interpret it.

Meaning

The general equation for this situation is

y = mx + b

m (the number in front of the x) is the slope

y = 9/10 x - 9/10

So the slope is 9/10

b  is the number by itself on the right. It is the y-intercept and it it -9/10

Since slope is greater than 0, C cannot be right.

Since the y intercept is less than 0, A, B, and C are all incorrect which leaves D

Answer D

Equation:

-9x+10y=-9

10y=9x-9

y=9/10x-9/10

Slope: 9/10

Y intercept:  -9/10

So your answer is D

Answer:

a) t=\sqrt{\frac{d}{4.9}}

b) t=0.25 s

Step-by-step explanation:

a) We have the following equation:

t=\sqrt{\frac{2d}{9.8}} (1)

Where t is the time is seconds, d is the distance in meters and 9.8 m/s^{2} is the acceleration due gravity

If we divide numerator and denominator inside the square root by 2:

t=\sqrt{\frac{2d/2}{9.8/2}}

We will have:

t=\sqrt{\frac{d}{4.9}}

Hence:

?=4.9

b) Using the same equation (1) with thw following data:

d=32 cm \frac{1 m}{100 cm}=0.32 m

t=\sqrt{\frac{2(0.32 m)}{9.8 m/s^{2}}}

We will have the reaction time:

t=0.25 s

Elena-2011 [213]

Answer:

0.99804932311

Step-by-step explanation:

We solve this using binomial probability

Binomial probability formula

= nCx × p^x × q^n - x

= n!/(n - x)! x!

Where n = Number of trials = 25 samples

x = Number of successes = 23

p = probability of success = 99% = 0.99

q = probability of failure = 1 - p

= 1 - 0.99

= 0.01

Hence,

p(at least 23 are properly filled) = p(X ≥ x)

= [25!/(25 - 23)! × 23! × 0.99^23 × 0.01^25 - 23 ]+ [25!/(25 - 24)! × 24! × 0.99^24 × 0.01^25 - 24 ]+ [25!/(25 - 25)! × 23! × 0.99^25 × 0.01^25 - 25]

= [300 × 0.99 ^23 × 0.01^2] + [25 × 0.99^24 × 0.01^1] + [1 × 0.99^25 + 0.01^0]

= 0.0238084285 + 0.1964195352 + 0.7778213594

= 0.99804932311
