This is the floor of isaac's kitchen. Isaac needs to determine the area of the floor so he can order new tile. Enter the area, i
butalik [34]

Answer:

134

Step-by-step explanation:

first, separate the floor into 3 different rectagles to calculate the area and then add them together.

area of rec=L*B

rec 1: 9.5*7=66.5

rec 2: (10.5-4.5)*(14.5-5-7)=15

rec 3:5*10.5=52.5

Then:

66.5+52.5+15=134

Nick went bike ride to the store 5 miles away.If it took nick 1/2 of an hour to get there and 2/5 to get back, what was his avera
pav-90 [236]

Answer:

11.1m/s

Step-by-step explanation:

Given parameters:

Distance of store  = 5miles

Time to store = \frac{1}{2}hr

Time from store  = \frac{2}{5}hr

Unknown:

Average speed  = ?

Solution:

Average speed is the total distance divided by the total time taken.

   Average speed  = \frac{total distance}{total time taken}

Total distance  = distance to store + distance from store  = 5 + 5 = 10miles

Total time taken  =  \frac{1}{2}hr +  \frac{2}{5}hr = \frac{9}{10}hr

Average speed  = \frac{10}{\frac{9}{10} }   = 10 x \frac{10}{9}   = 11.1m/s

I need help solving this proportion!! <br><br> 3/x-1 = 2/x+4
Gelneren [198K]
1. Move 2/x to the left side of proportion by changing sign before it:
3/x - 1 - 2/x = 4

2. Move 1 to the right side of proportion and change it's sign as well:
3/x - 2/x = 4 + 1

3. Sum numerators in the left side of proportion since they have common denominator (x) abd also sum the numbers in the right side too:
(3-2)/x = 5

4. Calculate numerator in the left side of proportion:
1/x = 5

5. Move 1 to the right side of proportion by dividing that side by it:
x = 1/5
