I believe that Seneca School District should not start year-round classes, as this would harm many students and teachers. Having

year-round classes with short breaks could save our school money, but could harm students' educations. I believe that having four, rather than one, extended breaks will make students forget more information. Students need to review after their current summer breaks and will need to review three times more per year if they are given four extended breaks. Also, students will not be able to get summer jobs or be involved in summer camps if they go to school during the summer. Furthermore, some of the schools in our district do not have air conditioning, which makes them inappropriate for use during the summer. Read this draft of the beginning of a persuasive speech. Which of these choices BEST states the author's purpose in writing this speech? A) to explain how year-round schooling works B) to describe the schedule of a year-round school C) to teach the audience how to begin year-round schooling D) to convince the audience that year-round schooling is harmful

Answer:

D) to convince the audience that year-round schooling is harmful.

Explanation:

The persuasive speech illuminates, teaches and persuades or rouses a crowd of people to accomplish something. You are basically attempting to influence the group of onlookers to embrace your own perspective.

Persuasive speeches are interesting, brave and have an unmistakable assessment. You ought to talk about something you are educated about and can contend your conclusion for, just as dispassionately examine counter-contentions.

Recall a "first" in life: the birth of your first baby sibling, your first time driving, the first birthday party you remember,
klio [65]

Answer:

Sitting stiffly in front of the steering wheel, I do as my father told me and gently start the car. Carefully I drove it to the middle of the street double-checking, the rearview mirror just in case that a car or a bike suddenly appears. I successfully did the firsts meters without any problems. I made it to the end of my desolated street. Everything was fine, no cars, no kids, no dogs, nothing to worry about.

Suddenly, Tim, that annoying kid with his red ball, sees me from his porch. I saw his face while I was anxiously approaching his ostentatious house, and I knew that he was planning something. Carefully lying my feet on the brakes expecting for him to run in front of the car and my nervous self, I pass in front of his house. I was driving so slowly that I made his target extremely easy. His shiny red ball hit me square in the face making me lose control of the car and hit the brakes just in time before crashing the car against the big oak tree of Mr. Ferguson.

Explanation:

In this text, we describe a first-time driving experience. In the text, there are details about how the person feels during his first driving, what he sees, and what he is scare of. Also, we develop the sequence from the moment he sees his neighbor till he loses control due to the ball.

It is important to include details and a sequence in a narrative to engage the reader, make it clear, and transmit the story and the scene as vividly as possible.

EMERGENCY QUICK! PLEASE HELP WITH MY QUESTIONS! 1. What are some advantages of James Hurst deciding to have Brother as the narra
Natalija [7]

This question refers to the story "The Scarlet Ibis" by James Hurst.

1. The story "The Scarlet Ibis" is told from the perspective of Doodle's older brother. This child is referred to in the story as "Brother." There are several reasons why the story might be told from Brother's perspective. First, the story focuses on the relationship between the two brothers. Therefore, it is more informative for the reader if a brother narrates the events, as opposed to another member of the family. Moreover, Doodle has a developmental problem, which makes Brother the most reliable narrator of the two.

2. If the story was written from the parents' perspective, there would be significant changes in tone and mood. It is likely that the parents would not understand the connection between the brothers in the same way that Brother understands them. Moreover, it is also likely that the parents would have more pity and compassion for Doodle than Brother has.

3. If the scene was rewritten from Old Woman Swamp's point of view, it is likely that the scene would feature both brothers more prominently. First, it might show the struggle that Doodle faces earlier, which might indicate to the reader that Doodle might be in danger. Moreover, this point of view would probably focus less on the inner thoughts of Brother and more in the way the brothers interact with one another.

BartSMP [9]

Laughing can relieve muscle tension and stress. Laughing also causes your brain to release hormones like endorphins. It also decreases stress hormones, which is a big help. When you laugh you also take deep breaths, so you end up getting more oxygen in our blood stream. Laughing can also improve your immune system, so you can fight off infections better. Try to expand on that. Hope that helps.
