The Story of an Hour tells the story of Mrs. Mallard, who is a wife from the 19th century that has devoted her life to her husband, when her sister comes and tells her that her husband was involved in an accident and he passed away, she has a lot of struggles within herself with the idea of living for herself and not for her husband, she reaches a point where the joy is such that she passes away of pure joy, that when her husband comes into the house, not awared of what had happend and never being involved in the accident, the shor story critiques and shows the role of women in society at that time.
