Santa Barbara oil spill event was most responsible for the U.S. Congress's passing the National Environmental Protection Act of 1969.

Explanation:

Santa Barbara oil spill occurred in the year 1969 which was considered to be the largest oil spill. About 80,000 to a lakh barrels of crude oil was spilled in Santa Barbara causing a phenomenal pollution in the ocean.

The people became outrageous and that’s when the NEPA (National Environmental Protection Act) was formed in 1969. The NEPA was formed by President Nixon to create an awareness among the public and to protect the environment.

This act was introduced to follow proper policy management and to facilitate the public involvement too. For any new project to be established they have to get the approval from the NEPA.

How could life on Earth change if both Carbon Dioxide and Ozone levels began to decrease? Describe at least two ways life would
soldier1979 [14.2K]

Answer:

Increase occur in skin diseases and decrease occurs in the Earth's average temperature.

Explanation:

If both Carbon Dioxide and Ozone levels began to decrease, increase occur in skin diseases and decrease occurs in the Earth's average temperature. The decrease in ozone levels allows more UV radiation to reach the Earth's surface which lead to various diseases such as skin cancer, cataracts, and weakened immune systems. The atmospheric carbondioxide gas is responsible for the increase of surface temperature by trapping reflected solar radiations so decrease in carbondioxide concentration will leads to lower surface temperature.
