The expression given is
6(31) + 6(4) - 6(15)
Now we already know the rule of BODMAS ( Bracket of division, multiplication, addition, substration).
So in the given equation we have to first multiply the numbers within the bracket with the number outside the bracket and then proceed to the next step.
So
188 + 24 - 90
Now we have to add first as per the rule of BODMAS. So the epression comes down to:
212 - 90
= 122
So the correct answer to the expression is 122.

3x+4y=-23
2y-x=-19
What is the solution (x,y) to the systems of equations above?
Shkiper50 [21]
If we multiply the bottom equation by 2 and move x to the right, it becomes:

4y = 2x-38

Now we can substitute it for the 4y in the top equation:

3x + (2x-38) = -23 => 5x = -23+38 => 5x = 15 => x=3

Then 4y = 2*3-38 => y = -8

So the solution is (3,-8)

The formula below, Newton's law of cooling, allows us to calculate the temperature of an object as it cools. T = R + (T0 − R)e-k
trasher [3.6K]
The Newton`s law of cooling:
T = R + ( To - R ) * e ^(-kt )
We know that: T = 32° F ( the water freezes at 32° F ), To = 55° F, R = 5° F
and the cooling rate is: k = 0.012.
33° F = 5° F + ( 55° F - 5° F ) · 2.72^(-0.012 t )
33 - 5 = 50 · 2.72^(-0.012 t)
27 = 50 · 2.72^(-0.012 t)
2.72^(-0.012 t) = 27/50
1 / 2.72^(0.012 t) = 0.54
2.72^( 0.012 t ) = 1 : 0.54 = 1.85
0.012 t = log(base e) 1.85 = ln 1.85 = 0.6
t = 0.6 : 0.012 = 50
Answer: It would take 50 minutes.
