Sam exercised by stretching and jogging 5 days last week. • He stretched for a total of 25 minutes during the week. • He jogged

for an equal number of minutes each of the 5 days. • He exercised for a total of 240 minutes. Linda also exercised by stretching and jogging 5 days last week. • She stretched for 15 minutes each day. • She jogged for an equal number of minutes each of the 5 days. • She exercised for a total of 300 minutes. Determine the number of minutes Sam jogged each day last week and the number of minutes Linda jogged each day last week. Show your work or explain all the steps you used to determine your answers. We know that
Part 1)
1) <span>Sam exercised by stretching and jogging 5 days last week.
2) </span><span>He stretched for a total of 25 minutes during the week
3) </span><span>He jogged for an equal number of minutes each of the 5 days
4) </span><span>He exercised for a total of 240 minutes

</span>Sam's exercise during the week=stretching + jogging
stretching=25 minutes
Sam's exercise during the week=240 minutes
so
 jogging=240-25-----> 215 minutes
divide 215 minutes by 5
215/5=43 minutes of jogging each day

the answer part 1) is
<span>the number of minutes Sam jogged each day last week is 43 minutes
</span>
Part 2)
1) <span>Linda also exercised by stretching and jogging 5 days last week
2) </span><span>She stretched for 15 minutes each day
3) </span><span>She jogged for an equal number of minutes each of the 5 days.
4) </span><span>She exercised for a total of 300 minutes

</span>Linda's exercise during the week=stretching + jogging
Linda's exercise during the week=300 minutes
stretching=15*5-----> 75 minutes
jogging=300-75-----> 225 minutes
divide 225 by 5
225/5=45 minutes of jogging each day

the answer part 2) is
the number of minutes Linda jogged each day last week is 45 minutes

Box all final answers. Little to no work will reccive little to no credit! I. (5 points) Let A and B be 4 x 4 matrices, with det
FinnZ [79.3K]

Answer: a) -6, b) 32, c) -48, d) 9, e) -12

Step-by-step explanation:

Since we have given that

A and B are 4 × 4 matrices.

Here,

det (A) = -3

det (B) = 2

We need to find the respective parts:

a) det (AB)

\mid AB\mid=\mid A\mid.\mid B\mid\\\\\mid AB\mid=-3\times 2=-6

b) det (B⁵ )

\mid B^5\mid=\mid B\mid ^5=2^5=32

c) det (2A)

Since we know that

\mid kA\mid =k^n\mid A\mid

so, it becomes,

\mid 2A\mid =2^4\mid A\mid=16\times -3=-48

d) \bold{det(A^TA)}

Since we know that

\mid A^T\mid=\mid A\mid

so, it becomes,

\mid A^TA\mid=\mid A^T\mid \times \mid A\mid=-3\times -3=9

e) det (B⁻¹AB)

As we know that

\mid B^{-1}\mid =\mid B\mid

so, it becomes,

\mid B^{-1}AB}\mid =\mid B^{-1}.\mid \mid A\mid.\mid B\mid=2\times -3\times 2=-12

Hence, a) -6, b) 32, c) -48, d) 9, e) -12
